Add another potential closerto the list. Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports that Marlins right-hander Matt Lindstromis “virtually certain” to be traded during the winter meetings.

According to major league sources, of the six teams to express interest in Lindstrom, three have jumped to the forefront in recent days. Said another source, Lindstrom is “close to being traded,” adding that a deal “could happen any day now.” Lindstrom, who turns 30 in February, is arbitration-eligible for the first time this winter.

Team president Larry Beinfest said the closer rolewas Leo Nunez’s to lose this week, so it appears they’d prefer not to keep both. Limited to 54 appearances due to right elbow inflammation in 2009, Lindstrom posted a 5.89 ERA and 1.65 WHIP.
