This isn’t what Rockies fans want to hear. According to Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post, Nolan Arenado was a late scratch from tonight’s lineup against the Padres due to a sore left wrist.

It’s unclear how long Arenado’s wrist has been an issue, but the Rockies are calling him day-to-day for now. Rafael Ynoa made the start at third base in his place.

Arenado took a step forward offensively in 2014 while winning his second straight Gold Glove Award for his fantastic defense at the hot corner. The 24-year-old is off to a great start this season, batting .311/.380/.644 with three home runs and 10 RBI across his first 50 plate appearances.
