CBS Sports’ Jon Heyman said it was close, and now FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal is reporting it as official: Darren O’Day will be returning to the Baltimore Orioles on a four-year free agent contract.

The deal is worth $31 million guaranteed.

O’Day was by far the biggest fish on the free agent market this winter for teams seeking bullpen help, and he found himself a closer-like contract. He registered a 1.52 ERA, 0.93 WHIP, and 82/14 K/BB ratio in 65 1/3 innings this summer for the O’s and boasts a 1.92 ERA in 263 innings since 2012.

The 33-year-old right-hander is presumably going to slide back into his familiar setup role ahead of Orioles closer Zach Britton.

Washington reportedly came in second place here.
