We learned earlier today that new Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine was scheduled to travel to the Dominican Republic this weekend to participate in David Ortiz’s charity golf tournament. Oh, and to help in the recruiting process to retain the veteran slugger. Well, according to a picture posted to Ortiz’s Twitter account, the wooing is already underway:
