ESPN’s Adam Rubin is reporting that the Mets and starter Dillon Gee have agreed on a $3.625 million salary for 2014 in the right-hander’s first year of arbitration eligibility. The deal is at the exact midpoint between the $4.05 million for which Gee filed, and the $3.2 million for which the Mets filed.

Gee, who turns 28 at the end of April, finished the 2013 season with a 3.62 ERA in 199 innings of work. It was a tremendous bounce-back season after undergoing surgery on his right shoulder to repair a blood clot in July 2012. Going into 2014, Gee will slot into the middle of the Mets’ rotation behind Bartolo Colon and Jonathon Niese along with Zack Wheeler.
