Kiley McDaniel of ESPN reports that Major League Baseball has given clubs permission to resume in-person scouting activities. A ban was put in place on March 19 due to COVID-19.

Under the new rule, there is a limit of three scouts per MLB club for each event. And yes, there are events: McDaniel notes that amateur baseball tournaments have been going on for several weeks in multiple states.

The wrinkle: a lot of teams have furloughed their scouts. I would guess that at least some of those on furlough will be called back now.
