Rockies will wait until Tuesday to activate Huston Street

Rockies closer Huston Street was scheduled to make one final rehab appearance Saturday at Triple-A Colorado Springs before rejoining the Rockies on Sunday. Well, according to Thomas Harding of MLB.com, that plan just took a detour.

Street was pelted for three earned runs in 1.1 innings Saturday against the Blue Jays’ Triple-A affiliate from Las Vegas and was ejected for arguing balls and strikes once the damage was done.

Now the Rockies are going to wait until Tuesday to activate him from the disabled list, giving Manny Corpas one more chance to add a save to his resume. Corpas has experienced his fair share of hiccups since grabbing ninth-inning duties in Colorado, but let’s not look past his 0.93 WHIP and 25/9 K/BB ratio. He should do great in his old familiar setup role.

Street, meanwhile, hasn’t thrown a pitch this season due to groin and shoulder injuries. He posted a 3.06 ERA, a 0.91 WHIP and converted 35 of 37 save opportunities last year for the Rox.
