Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun will find himself in a new position against the Pirates on Saturday night, not in the field, but in the starting lineup. He’ll be leading off for the first time in his nine-year major league career, per the Brewers on Twitter.

Braun has hit everywhere else in the lineup in his career. He’s taken 223 plate appearances batting second, 4,161 PA batting third, 254 batting fourth, 68 batting fifth, and a combined 13 PA in the bottom four spots.

The 31-year-old is off to a slow start this season, carrying a .226/.250/.226 triple-slash line with zero extra-base hits and two RBI in 32 plate appearances.
