A little over a week ago a fan threw an aluminum beer bottle at Phillies first baseman Ryan Howard during a game at Citizens Bank Park. The fan, one presumed, was upset after Howard made the last out in a 6-3 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers. As if the fan could’ve done better.

Anyway, this morning that fan was finally arrested. His name is Sidney Smith, a 21 year-old resident of Wilmington, Delaware. He turned himself in to authorities on Friday. He was issued a summary citation for disorderly conduct and released by police.

UPDATE: An earlier version if this post featured a tweet with the picture of a fan that several news organizations identified as the man who threw the bottle. this morning police said that the photo was not, in fact, Smith, so the photo has been removed. Apologies.
