Tim Bogar was passed over for the Rangers’ full-time manager job after serving as the team’s interim manager down the stretch and T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com reports that he will not be a part of new manager Jeff Banister’s coaching staff.
Bogar served as former manager Ron Washington’s bench coach and then went 14-8 as interim manager for a team that had been horrible until that point.
However, after including Bogar among their three finalists for the job the Rangers opted instead for Pirates bench coach Jeff Banister, giving him a three-year contract.
