Brewers outfield prospect Brett Phillips may be known first and foremost for his baseball talent, but his unique laugh has become the talk of spring training. Tim Brown of Yahoo Sports recently profiled the 21-year-old, who’s in big league camp but will start the season in the minors.
When he laughs, Phillips opens his mouth, opens one eye, and bends at the waist. At first, he emits no sound -- certainly not the typical “ha ha” -- but eventually he’ll emit... noise. Phillips described it as a “goose, dying donkey, pterodactyl.” He went on, “Like a mystery box, I never know what sound is gonna come out.”
On Monday, the Brewers got reliever Will Smith and Phillips for #MomJokeMonday. Smith’s goal was to get Phillips to laugh with his corny jokes. He succeeded, and you have to watch:

Phillips said he used to hide his laugh, but has begun to embrace it.
Considered the second-best prospect in the Brewers’ minor league system and 32nd overall by MLB.com, Phillips hit .250/.361/.413 in 98 plate appearances at Double-A Biloxi after coming over from the Astros in the Carlos Gomez trade.
