The White Sox non-tendered right-hander Scott Carroll back in December, but the club announced today that they have re-signed him to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

After spending seven seasons in the minors, Carroll made his major league debut last April and ended up making 19 starts and seven relief appearances. The 30-year-old induced a lot of grounders, but he posted a mediocre 4.80 ERA and 64/45 K/BB ratio in 129 1/3 innings.

If everything goes according to plan for the White Sox, Carroll will likely provide rotation depth at Triple-A Charlotte this season.
