Brewers right-hander Wily Peralta missed nearly two months earlier this summer with a left oblique strain and came down with renewed discomfort in that muscle after yielding eight hits and six earned runs in 4 2/3 innings to the Cubs on Monday night at Wrigley Field.

We won’t see any more of the 26-year-old starter over the final 11 days of the regular season ...

Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel tweeted Wednesday evening that he’s getting the vibe the Brewers were upset about Peralta’s physical shape this year and want him to work hard on it over the winter. Peralta will finish with an ugly 4.72 ERA, 1.54 WHIP, and 60/37 K/BB ratio in 108 2/3 innings.

He had a promising 3.53 ERA and 154/61 K/BB ratio in 198 2/3 innings last year.
