Chien-Ming Wang is making his way back from June shoulder surgery and plans to begin a throwing program on December 1 with an eye toward being ready for game action as soon as mid-April, but Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports that the Yankees are giving serious thought to non-tendering him. While that’s not necessarily surprising given Wang’s arbitration eligibility and $5 million salary this season, Sherman also notes that the Yankees may “not even offer him” an incentive-laden contract to return, basically choosing just to part ways with the 29-year-old right-hander who went 54-20 with a 3.79 ERA before falling apart in 2009.
