Greenwood

Greenwood, 29, held a 3.20 ERA and 57/13 K/BB ratio over 112 1/3 innings between Double- and Triple-A in the Twins organization last season. He’s merely organizational depth.

Greenwood was pitching for New Britain in the Independent Atlantic League, where he posted 19 scoreless innings with a 0.89 WHIP and 17/4 K/BB ratio. He’ll provide organizational bullpen depth for the Twins and could work his way up to the big league club in relatively short order.

Greenwood will make his 2015 major league debut the next time he’s sent into a game. Last year, he posted a middling 4.75 ERA in 36 innings of relief, with a 4.49 FIP that suggested he didn’t get unlucky. The small left-hander might not have the stuff for this level, as his 4.72 ERA in 259-plus Triple-A innings may have already suggested.

Greenwood yielded a single and a walk-off two-run homer without retiring a batter in a save chance in extra innings last weekend in his lone appearance with the big club. He returns to a 5.42 ERA at Memphis.

Greenwood made his major league debut last season, holding a 4.75 ERA in 36 innings of relief. He’ll be another option for the Cardinals should their left-handed relief struggle this season.

Greenwood has posted a 4.74 ERA while striking out 10 over 19 relief innings with the big club this season. He’ll be used in long relief.

Greenwood, 26, has put together a nice year at Memphis, posting a 2.61 ERA and 32/7 K/BB ratio across 41 1/3 innings. He’s made three starts for Memphis this year and could be part of a potential bullpen start for the Cards on Monday in place of Adam Wainwright (elbow). Greenwood will be making his major league debut when he gets into a game.

Greenwood posted a 4.74 ERA while striking out 10 over 19 relief innings with the big club. He was no longer needed with Kevin Siegrist back from the disabled list.

Greenwood will function as a long reliever for the final four weeks of the 2015 regular season.

Greenwood holds a 5.25 ERA over 20 appearances the last two season with the Cardinals. He’s likely to clear waivers.
