Corey Hart will undergo arthroscopic surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee and is out 3-4 weeks.
Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel wrote that Hart has a “good chance” of opening the year on the disabled list. Hart will definitely miss most -- and probably all -- of the Cactus League schedule, which could mean a rehab assignment out of the gate to get his timing back. Hart, 29, batted .285/.356/.510 with 26 home runs and 63 RBI last season for Milwaukee. Norichika Aoki could start in Hart’s absence, or the Brewers could opt for a defensive-first alignment and play the center field tandem of Nyjer Morgan and Carlos Gomez together.
