Brewers president David Stearns noted Thursday that OF prospect Pablo Abreu (elbow) should be ready for the start of spring training.
Abreu posted a picture to his personal Instagram page earlier this week that showed him laying in a hospital bed with a big cast on his right elbow, but Stearns has now clarified that it was only a minor cleanup procedure. The 21-year-old center fielder needs to be added to the Brewers’ 40-man roster by Friday’s deadline or he could be subject to selection by another organization in next month’s Rule 5 Draft.
