Pasqual Coco allowed one run in five innings yesterday and has a 1.37 ERA in five starts in the Dominican Winter League.
He was denied a win after Aguilas rallied and won on a Luis Polonia homer. Coco, a former Blue Jays prospect, spent most of last season pitching in Mexico after being released by the Expos. If he continues to throw well in the Dominican Republic, he shouldn’t have any trouble landing a minor league contract.

The Yankees are showing an interest in free-agent right-hander Pasqual Coco.
The team that released Ruben Rivera for stealing may sign another thief? Teams will do anything for pitching depth.

Expos signed pitchers Pasqual Coco, Ryan Douglass, Fernando Rijo and Manny Santillan; catcher Jason Brown; infielders Brian Harris and Pedro Liriano; and outfielders Juan Camilo and Jeremy Wade to minor league contracts.
None of the players will attend major league spring training. Coco, released by the Blue Jays a year ago after he allegedly stole several hundred dollars in cash from minor leaguer Diegomar Markwell, would seem to be the only player here with much chance of seeing time with the Expos this season. He went 10-9 with a 4.80 ERA in a disappointing 2003 season at Triple-A Indianapolis.

Brewers signed RHP Pasqual Coco to a minor league contract.
If he wants to pitch in the majors, Coco made the smart move picking the Brewers over the Yankees. He’ll probably see time in Milwaukee’s bullpen before the end of the season.

Dominican baseball officials were investigating rumors that Pasqual Coco and Enmanuel Sena of Escogido took money to throw winter league games, the league president said Monday.
Lions officials denied the rumors and said the two were let go because they weren’t producing for the team. Coco pitched for the Jays in 2000-02 before being released in spring 2003, reportedly because he stole several hundred dollars in cash from fellow prospect Diegomar Markwell. He hasn’t been back to the majors since, and he’s currently a free agent.

Blue Jays released RHP Paqsual Coco.
Jays officials refused to officially state the reason for Coco’s dismissal, but sources told the Toronto Star that it was because he had stolen several hundred dollars in cash from fellow prospect Diegomar Markwell. No criminal action is expected to be taken against Coco. It may take some time, but the 25-year-old will find a team willing to give him another chance.
