Twins 2B prospect Payton Eeles clobbered a two-run homer on Friday for Triple-A St. Paul.
Eeles seems to fit the bill for fantasy managers searching for an off-the-radar prospect that could make an impact in the coming weeks, especially in extremely deep mixed leagues. The unheralded 24-year-old infielder went undrafted out of Coastal Carolina last year and spent time with the Chicago Dogs and Southern Maryland Blue Crabs of the independent American Association and Atlantic League, respectively, before getting a shot earlier this season with the Twins. He’s batted .305/.436/.476 with eight homers and 33 steals in 401 plate appearances over 97 games across three level, reaching Triple-A St. Paul back in early July.
