Orioles acquired INF Payton Eeles from the Twins for C Alex Jackson.
Eeles, 26, missed the first half of the 2025 season while recovering from offseason knee surgery. He wound up slashing .261/.382/.332 with four homers, 34 RBI, 27 stolen bases (35 attempts) and a 73/53 K/BB ratio over 428 plate appearances across three minor league levels (primarily at Triple-A St. Paul). He’ll add infield depth for the O’s.

Payton Eeles (knee) will make his season debut at Triple-A St. Paul this week.
Eeles missed the opening two months of the minor league campaign recovering from offseason knee surgery. The unheralded 25-year-old second baseman finished last year at Triple-A St. Paul and wound up hitting .306/.435/.497 with 12 homers and 41 steals across three levels in Minnesota’s system. He’s the definition of a dark horse prospect for fantasy purposes.

Twins 2B prospect Payton Eeles clobbered a two-run homer on Friday for Triple-A St. Paul.
Eeles seems to fit the bill for fantasy managers searching for an off-the-radar prospect that could make an impact in the coming weeks, especially in extremely deep mixed leagues. The unheralded 24-year-old infielder went undrafted out of Coastal Carolina last year and spent time with the Chicago Dogs and Southern Maryland Blue Crabs of the independent American Association and Atlantic League, respectively, before getting a shot earlier this season with the Twins. He’s batted .305/.436/.476 with eight homers and 33 steals in 401 plate appearances over 97 games across three level, reaching Triple-A St. Paul back in early July.
