Henry

Henry was promoted last week but did not appear in a game for the Phillies. He has not appeared in a big league game since 2022.

Henry, who last played in the bigs in 2022, hit .201/.285/.291 between Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and Lehigh Valley in 200 plate appearances. He’ll spell JT Realmuto if Realmuto really needs a day off.

The Yankees had said all along that regardless of how he performed during the spring, it was likely that the Martian would be starting the year at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, and that’s where he’ll head despite slashing .325/.378/.600 with three homers, 10 RBI and three stolen bases in 45 plate appearances during Grapefruit League play. He has all of the skills to be an impact fantasy contributor, but it’ll take an injury for him to get enough playing time with the Bombers to bring that to fruition.

Henry hasn’t appeared in the big leagues since the 2022 campaign when he got into 15 games for the Marlins. The 28-year-old backstop posted a .249/.323/.415 slash line with 11 homers in 65 games at the Triple-A level this past season. He’ll function as emergency organizational catching depth for the Yankees.

Henry returns to Philadelphia as extra catching depth at Triple-A Lehigh Valley heading into 2025. The 27-year-old backstop hasn’t appeared in the big league sine the 2022 season when he got into 15 contests for the Marlins.

Henry was stretchered off and transported to a local hospital after being struck in the head by a backswing during Friday’s game for Triple-A Buffalo against Syracuse. The 26-year-old backstop is doing well as he rests and recovers, according to a team statement. The 26-year-old backstop signed a minor league contract with the Blue Jays last December as extra organizational catching depth.

The 26-year-old catcher spent last season with the Brewers organization, hitting .294/.341/.454 with nine homers across 255 plate appearances at Triple-A Nashville. He will add depth at the catching position in the upper minors for the Blue Jays.

Henry passed through waivers unclaimed after being designated for assignment last week and will remain with the Brewers as extra catching depth at Triple-A Nashville.

The Brewers needed to free up a spot on the 40-man roster for Colin Rea to start on Thursday night, and it looks like Henry drew the short straw this time around. There’s a decent chance that he’ll pass through waivers unclaimed and continue to function as catching depth for the Brewers.

Henry was acquired last November from the Marlins in a small trade and will open the regular season at Triple-A Nashville as extra organizational catching depth.
