Despite the poor results, something caught the Rangers eye and now he’ll serve as extra bullpen depth at Triple-A Round Rock.

    Diamondbacks sent RHP Peter Solomon outright to Triple-A Reno.
    Solomon passed through waivers unclaimed after being designated for assignment last week and will remain with Arizona as extra organizational relief depth. The 26-year-old righty has made five relief appearances this season in the majors, allowing 18 runs on 17 hits with a 6/11 K/BB ratio across 13 1/3 innings.

    The Diamondbacks selected Solomon in the MiLB portion of the Rule 5 Draft last December. He has a 10.80 ERA across 3 1/3 inning in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast league. The 26-year-old will fill in middle relief after Zach Davies landed on the 15-day IL with a strained left oblique.

    Pirates claimed RHP Peter Solomon off of waivers from the Astros and optioned him to Triple-A Indianapolis
    The right-hander was surprisingly designated for assignment by the Astros on Thursday, and it’s not shocking to see that he was picked up elsewhere. The right-hander posted a 1.29 ERA and 10/8 K/BB ratio over 14 innings during his time with the Astros in 2021. He’ll add bullpen depth for a Pirates team that could certainly use it.
