Mariners optioned RHP Ty Adcock to Triple-A Tacoma; Re-assigned LHP Reid VanScoter to minor league camp.
Neither of the two hurlers were expected to make the Opening Day roster — especially with the addition of Ryne Stanek to the bullpen. Adcock struggled in his two Cactus League appearances, posting a 13.50 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and a 1/0 K/BB ratio in his two innings of work. He’ll begin the season as extra bullpen depth at Triple-A Tacoma.
