The deal does not include an invitation to spring training, meaning Rodriguez won’t be in the hunt for an Opening Day roster spot. He batted .249/.326/.476 with 16 home runs in 102 games this year between Double-A Portland and Triple-A Pawtucket -- affiliates of the Red Sox.

Yet another Stanozolol suspension. Rodriguez, 29, was batting just .234/.290/.328 in 69 plate appearances this season at Triple-A Rochester. He has not appeared in a major league game and probably never will.
