Ureña spent the entire 2021 campaign at Triple-A Buffalo in the Blue Jays’ minor-league system, hitting .272/.310/.438 with nine homers and two steals across 350 plate appearances. The 25-year-old infielder holds a .253/.300/.336 triple-slash line across 263 career plate appearances at the big-league level since 2017. He’ll serve as organizational infield depth with the Nationals next season.

The Blue Jays have 37 players left on their big-league spring training roster. The most notable name on this list would be Payamps, who has shuttled between the Jays and Red Sox numerous times through waivers this offseason.

The Orioles claimed Urena off waivers from the Blue Jays last offseason, but he was released in June before making an appearance for them. The 24-year-old will give Toronto some infield depth.
