Phillies acquired RHP Rodolfo Sanchez from the Rays as the player to be named in the Edgar Garcia trade.
Garcia was sent to Tampa Bay back on August 18 and went on to allow four earned runs in just 3 1/3 innings of relief. Sanchez, a 20-year-old native of the Dominican Republic, has registered a promising 3.03 ERA, 1.135 WHIP, and 154/47 K/BB ratio over his first 160 1/3 professional frames and could prove to be a nice long-term piece for Philadelphia. He pitched exclusively as a starter in 2019 at Low-A Hudson Valley.
