    Diamondbacks signed RHP Ryan Hendrix to a minor league contract.
    Hendrix made the announcement on his Instagram page. The 27-year-old right-hander posted a pedestrian 5.85 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 44/22 K/BB ratio across 40 innings (45 appearances) over the last two seasons for the Reds. He’ll augment the Diamondbacks’ organizational relief depth and has a shot to win a spot this spring on Arizona’s Opening Day roster.

    Hendrix was jettisoned from the Reds’ 40-man roster earlier this month and has refused an outright assignment to Triple-A Louisville. The 26-year-old right-hander, who has made 45 relief appearances for the Reds over the last two seasons, will test the free agent waters in search of a new opportunity. He made just nine relief appearances for Cincinnati this season.
