Marlins optioned RHP Sandy Rosario to Triple-A New Orleans.
Rosario returns to a 2.13 ERA and 14/1 K/BB ratio in 13 appearances this season at the Triple-A level. Miami had little use for him in the five days he was on the roster, not once summoning him into game action.

The Marlins are expected to recall Sandy Rosario from Triple-A New Orleans on Saturday.
Both Rosario and Chris Hatcher will be used as bullpen depth for the Marlins following Friday’s extra-inning game with the Padres. Rosario has a 2.13 ERA and 14/1 K/BB ratio in 15 appearances with New Orleans this season. Look for Miami to option Daniel Jennings and Bryan Petersen in a corresponding move.

The Marlins will likely recall right-hander Sandy Rosario from Triple-A New Orleans before Friday’s game.
If true, he’ll replace left-hander Dan Jennings on the active roster. Rosario had a brief stint with the Marlins last month, but didn’t make an appearance. The 26-year-old right-hander has a fantastic 1.04 ERA and 24/2 K/BB ratio over 26 innings at the Triple-A level this year.

The Marlins are expected to place Sandy Rosario on the disabled list with a right quad strain.
Rosario left Friday’s game after allowing three runs on four hits over one inning of work. It was initially reported as a knee injury, but it’s actually the quad. Chris Hatcher will be called up from Triple-A New Orleans to replace him on the active roster.

The Marlins are expected to recall right-hander Chris Hatcher from Triple-A New Orleans on Saturday.
He’ll take the roster spot of Sandy Rosario, who is expected to be placed on the disabled list with a quad strain. Hatcher, 27, has a 1.32 ERA and 23/8 K/BB ratio over 27 1/3 innings at the Triple-A level this year and posted a 6.97 ERA in 11 relief appearances with the Marlins in 2011.

Marlins placed RHP Sandy Rosario on the 15-day disabled list with a right quad strain.
As expected. The severity of the injury isn’t yet known, but it’s possible Rosario could return from the disabled list when first eligible. He’ll be replaced by Chris Hatcher on the active roster.

Athletics designated RHP Sandy Rosario for assignment.
Rosario was acquired from the Red Sox on Wednesday, but was released to clear room on the 40-man roster. He shouldn’t have a problem finding a team willing to give him a shot at a bullpen job.

Athletics acquired RHP Sandy Rosario from the Red Sox for a player to be named later or cash considerations.
Rosario never actually threw a pitch while property of the Red Sox, as he was claimed off waivers from the Marlins following the season. The 27-year-old right-hander made four appearances in the majors in 2012 and posted a 1.99 ERA and 24/2 K/BB ratio at the Triple-A level. The A’s have added him to their 40-man roster.
