Sean Gallagher allowed two runs in five innings Friday in his debut for Double-A West Tenn.
Gallagher, 20, was 4-0 with a 2.30 ERA, 75 H and 80/21 K/BB in 78 1/3 IP for Single-A Daytona. He’s not viewed as having much upside because of his mediocre fastball, but he could grow into a fourth- of fifth-starter role.

Double-A West Tenn’s Sean Gallagher allowed three hits over seven scoreless innings to win Sunday.
Gallager, 20, is 7-3 with a 2.44 ERA, 61 H and 74/50 K/BB in 73 2/3 IP since moving up to the Southern League. The Cubs have more experienced young pitchers to look at in September, so Gallagher probably won’t get a callup. However, he could be a rotation candidate by the end of 2007.

Reds signed RHP Sean Gallagher to a minor league contract.
Gallagher was a decent prospect at one time and will turn just 26 later this month, but his star has faded rapidly. He held a 5.11 ERA and 1.49 WHIP at Triple-A in the Pirates organization in 2011, failing to make it up to the big league level. He’s merely organizational depth.

Rockies signed RHP Sean Gallagher to a minor league contract; assigned him to Double-A Tulsa.
Gallagher had been pitching for the Sugar Land Skeeters of the independent Atlantic League. He last made an appearance in a major league game in 2010 with Pittsburgh.

Corey Brock of MLB.com reports that the Padres will place reliever Sean Gallagher on the disabled list with a toe injury.
No word on the specifics of the injury or how long Gallagher may be sidelined. The 24-year-old right-hander has an ugly 6.92 ERA and 13/12 K/BB ratio in nine relief appearances this season. Ryan Webb, who is currently with the team, is expected to take his place on the roster. Webb, a 24-year-old right-hander, has tossed 10 scoreless innings with Triple-A Portland this season.

Padres placed RHP Sean Gallagher on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained toe on his left foot.
Gallagher “rammed his toe” into a closet door on a trip to Cincinnati last month and it has bothered him ever since. Hey, at least it wasn’t a metal folding chair. There’s no current timeline for his return. The 24-year-old right-hander has a 6.92 ERA and 13/12 K/BB ratio over nine relief appearances this season.

The San Diego Union-Tribune reports that Sean Gallagher (toe) will join Triple-A Portland for a rehab assignment starting Monday.
Gallagher isn’t eligible to be activated until May 19, but if he’s well enough to pitch, rehab is a more effective use of his time than not seeing game action with the Padres. The former Cub had a 6.92 ERA and a 2.08 WHIP in nine appearances before he was injured.

Sean Gallagher is 0-2 with a 4.91 ERA and a 1.64 WHIP since beginning a rehab assignment two weeks ago at Triple-A Portland.
The Padres are off to an excellent 26-18 start this season and won’t call up Gallagher until he shows that he can be effective against minor league competition. The 24-year-old righty had a 6.92 ERA and a 2.08 WHIP in nine appearances before suffering a sprained toe in early May.

Sean Gallagher made his debut for Single-A Daytona yesterday and allowed one run in five innings. He struck out seven.
Gallagher, 19, went 14-5 with a 2.71 ERA, 107 H and 139/55 K/BB in 146 IP for Single-A Peoria. He’s not an elite prospect, but he might have the talent to be a starting pitcher in the majors.

RHP Sean Gallagher is expected to be optioned to Triple-A Iowa when the Cubs activate Aramis Ramirez from the disabled list.
Gallagher gave up six runs in five innings during his two week stay with the Cubs. He is a top prospect in the organization and should be back later in the season.
