Logan O’Hoppe (wrist) told reporters he anticipates missing a couple weeks.
O’Hoppe hit the injured list with a fracture in his left wrist over the weekend. The 26-year-old backstop suffered the injury when he was hit by a foul tip during Saturday’s game against the Royals. It’ll be a combination of veteran Travis d’Arnaud and Sebastian Rivero handling the catching duties in his absence.

Angels selected the contract of C Sebastián Rivero from Triple-A Salt Lake.
With Logan O’Hoppe heading to the injured list with a fractured left wrist, Rivero will get an opportunity to share the catching duties with Travis d’Arnaud. The 27-year-old backstop was off to a slow start offensively at the Triple-A level, slashing just .239/.275/.283 with no homers, six RBI and a 6/3 K/BB ratio in 51 plate appearances. He can be ignored for fantasy purposes.

Angels non-tendered OF Gustavo Campero and C Sebastián Rivero.
Campero and Rivero are now free agents who will almost assuredly be looking at non-roster invite contracts with new organization in 2026.

Rivero returns to the majors for the first time since getting into 34 contests for the Royals from 2021-2022. The 26-year-old backstop will serve as veteran Travis d’Arnaud’s primary caddy with starter Logan O’Hoppe heading to the concussion injured list.

Angels signed C Sebastián Rivero to a minor league contract.
Rivero hasn’t appeared in the big leagues since getting into 34 contests for the Royals from 2021-2022. The 26-year-old backstop spent all last year in Atlanta’s system, batting .186/.239/.249 with one homer and one steal in 259 plate appearances between Double-A Mississippi and Triple-A Gwinnett. White Sox signed C Sebastian Rivero to a minor league contract.
Rivero quickly latches on with the division-rival White Sox just a few weeks after being released by the Royals. The 24-year-old backstop ping-ponged between Kansas City’s active roster and the minors last year, getting into 17 contests at the highest level. He’s hit just .167/.236/.197 across 73 plate appearances in 34 games in the majors over the last two years. He’s more of an emergency catching depth addition for Chicago than anything else.
