Giants re-signed LHP Seth Corry to a minor league contract.
Corry was among the better pitching prospects in San Francisco’s system just a few years ago, but has been plagued by injuries the last few seasons. The 25-year-old lefty will head back to the Giants’ minor league ladder for the 2024 campaign.

Giants LHP prospect Seth Corry underwent surgery recently on his pitching shoulder.
The exact nature of the procedure is not yet known, nor is there a public timetable for his recovery. He figures to be out a while. Corry, a third-round pick in the 2017 MLB Draft out of a high school in Utah, has registered a 3.54 ERA with 353 strikeouts in 274 2/3 career minor league innings.

Giants LHP prospect Seth Corry struck out seven hitters over five scoreless innings on Sunday for Low-A Augusta.
Corry, 20, allowed just two hits in the contest, and he didn’t issue a free pass. The 2017 third-round pick has pitched very well in 2019 with an ERA of 2.19 over 70 innings, and he’s struck out 98 hitters against 43 walks. Corry is still filling out his frame, but the left-hander can get his fastball up to 96 mph, and he shows a plus curveball when he stays on top of it. He’s still working on repeating his delivery, and his command projects below-average at this point. Still, if it can get to close to that average mark -- and his change is going to have to reach that point, too -- he has a chance to be a mid-rotation starter, maybe more if the extra velocity does come.
