Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports that the Giants will send prospect right-hander Seth Rosin to the Phillies in the Hunter Pence deal.
This means the Phillies will get Nate Schierholtz, Tommy Joseph and Rosin in exchange for Pence. Rosin, 23, has a 4.31 ERA and 68/18 K/BB ratio over 56 1/3 innings as a starter and reliever this season with High-A San Jose. Baseball America didn’t include him among the Giants’ top 30 prospects coming into the season.

Phillies acquired RHP Seth Rosin, C Tommy Joseph and OF Nate Schierholtz from the Giants for OF Hunter Pence and cash considerations.
Rosin has a 3.80 ERA over parts over three seasons in the minors, averaging 9.8 K/9 and 2.8 BB/9. The 23-year-old right-hander has pitched both as a starter and reliever, so there appears to be some question about his long-term role. He’s not considered a top prospect.

Mets selected RHP Seth Rosin from the Phillies in the Rule 5 draft.
Acquired by the Phillies on Trade Deadline Day 2012 from the Giants in the Hunter Pence trade (along with Tommy Joseph and Nate Schierholtz), Rosin didn’t impress the Phillies’ brass enough to warrant protection from the Rule 5 draft. Rosin, who went 9-6 with a 4.33 ERA in 26 appearances (23 starts) for Double-A Reading this past season, was reportedly selected for a different organization. Expect a trade announcement in the near future.

Dodgers acquired RHP Seth Rosin from the Mets for cash considerations.
As Los Angeles’ proxy, the Mets selected Rosin from the Phillies in the Rule 5 draft on Thursday. Rosin went 9-6 with a 4.33 ERA in 23 starts and three relief appearances for Double-A Reading this past season. The 6-foot-6, 250-pounder from Arden Hills, Minn. will have to beat out one or more of Paco Rodriguez, Javy Guerra or Onelki Garcia to earn a spot in the Dodgers’ Opening Day bullpen.

Seth Rosin dominated the D’Backs on Wednesday, striking out five in two innings as the Dodgers went on to win 4-1.
Rosin was acquired from the Mets for cash considerations back in December. He is aiming to earn a spot at the back of the Dodgers’ bullpen. Rosin, however, has yet to go to Triple-A and the Dodgers have a plethora of relievers to use in low-leverage spots. If he makes a habit out of punching out five batters every two innings, though, he may force the Dodgers to create room for him.

Twins signed RHP Seth Rosin to a minor league contract.
Rosin allowed eight earned runs on 14 hits in just 8 2/3 innings last season with the Triple-A affiliate of the Padres. The 28-year-old right-hander will be nothing more than organizational bullpen depth for Minnesota.

Phillies optioned RHP Seth Rosin to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Rosin was only up for a day, allowing five runs over two relief innings Saturday. Sunday’s starter, Adam Morgan, is taking his spot on the roster.

Phillies purchased the contract of Seth Rosin from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
The 26-year-old has posted a 2.65 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 28/10 K/BB ratio over 37 1/3 innings at Triple-A. He’s expected to work in middle relief for the struggling Phillies.
  • MIN Relief Pitcher
Dodgers prospect RHP Seth Rosin has struck out eight batters this spring in five scoreless innings.
Rosin was selected by the Mets in December’s Rule 5 Draft and then traded to the Dodgers for cash considerations. The 25-year-old spent the entire 2013 season at Double-A Reading, where he registered a 4.33 ERA and 96-35 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 126 2/3 innings. Rosin is yet to pitch at the Triple-A level and has other Dodger relievers ahead of him on the depth chart, though his performance this spring undoubtedly has the right-hander on the big-league radar.

Rangers claimed RHP Seth Rosin off waivers from the Dodgers.
Rosin was selected from the Phillies by the Mets in December’s Rule 5 Draft and then flipped to the Dodgers in a trade, but now he’s on the move again. The 25-year-old impressed during Cactus League play and has a legitimate shot to stick in the Rangers’ bullpen.
