Nationals acquired RHP Seth Shuman, C Drew Millas and RHP Richard Guasch from the Athletics for INF Josh Harrison, C Yan Gomes and cash.
Shuman was a sixth-round selection by the Athletics in the 2019 MLB Draft and has posted a solid 2.25 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 62/16 K/BB ratio across 56 innings (13 appearances, 11 starts) at High-A Lansing this season. The 23-year-old righty represents a long-term lottery ticket for the rebuilding Nationals.
