Pirates RHP Prospect Steven Jennings threw seven scoreless innings on Thursday for short-season Bristol.
Jennings scattered five hits, and he fanned seven while walking just one. A second-round pick in 2017, Jennings has struggled with command for most of the year with 24 walks in 57 innings, he he’s also shown a plus fastball/slider combination, and a usable curve and change as well. If he can’t find the strike zone more consistently he could be a candidate to move to the bullpen, but he’s only 19, so there’s plenty of time for him to figure it out. Jennings is certainly worth monitoring going forward.
