Reds prospect Tanner Rahier was arrested Saturday and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and disorderly conduct.
A second-round pick of the Reds in 2012, the 21-year-old Rahier allegedly threw a rock and struck his girlfriend in the head outside of a restaurant in Glendale, Arizona. The woman suffered a deep cut on the left side of her head and was left unconscious. Police say that Rahier was intoxicated at the time (and claimed he didn’t know the woman) and that the incident occurred after he refused to pay his bill inside the restaurant. He is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
