Bittner

Bittner is one of the pitchers the Angels elected to keep over Bobby Jenks last winter. The 25-year-old went 1-7 with a 6.33 ERA in 14 starts for Double-A Arkansas.

Bittner might get a look as a lefty reliever before the end of the season. In the meantime, he’ll be in the rotation at Triple-A Salt Lake or Double-A Arkansas.

Bittner, a 23-year-old lefty acquired in last year’s Scott Schoeneweis deal, is 4-1 with a 3.59 ERA, 37 H and 43/24 K/BB in 52 2/3 IP. He projects as a reliever in the majors and might see time in Anaheim’s bullpen during the second half of the season.
