Tim Dillard announced his retirement from baseball on Wednesday morning.
Dillard broke the news on his own personal Twitter account. He signed a minor league contract with the Rangers back in December that did not include an invitation to major league camp. The 37-year-old righty pitched for the Brewers over parts of four MLB seasons, posting a combined 4.70 ERA in 84 1/3 total innings.

After 16 seasons in the Brewers organization, Dillard has finally decided to move on. The 35-year-old struggled to a 9.70 ERA in 34 1/3 innings at Triple-A Colorado Springs last season.

The Brewers consider Tim Dillard a strong candidate to make their Opening Day roster.
“He’s got a good chance to make our bullpen,” manager Ron Roenicke said. “What I see of him, I really like what he’s doing. He can get a strikeout on a really good hitter and that shows me something. He’s really nasty if he can do that.’' Dillard has a 3.38 ERA in two appearances this spring, and has enough of a track record with the Brewers to be used in a middle relief role. The 28-year-old posted a 24/4 K/BB ratio in 24 appearances last season.
