Indians signed outfielder Todd Donovan to a minor league contract.
Donovan, 27, is coming off a .275/.355/.405 with 62 steals in 75 attempts for Double-A Jacksonville last season. He could be worth a look as a fifth outfielder one of these years, but the Indians probably won’t have room for him.

Dodgers acquired outfielder Todd Donovan from the Padres for infielder Brett Dowdy.
Donovan, 26, was a member of the Padres’ 40-man roster a few years ago, but his development has stalled due to injuries. He hit .299/.386/.393 with 20 SB in 52 games for Double-A Mobile last season. Dowdy, a ninth-round pick out of Florida in 2003, is just a minor league utilityman.

Rangers signed outfielder Todd Donovan to a minor league contract.
The speedy Donovan, 28, hit .257/.328/.332 between Double- and Triple-A last season, seemingly putting the final nail in the coffin of his chances of making it as a fifth outfielder. He could be the center fielder at Triple-A Oklahoma if Freddy Guzman makes the Rangers as a reserve.

Orioles acquired outfielder Todd Donovan from the Indians for a player to be named.
Donovan, 27, was hitting .289/.350/.333 with 17 steals in 20 tries in 24 games for Double-A Akron. He had 62 steals in Double-A last year. Maybe he’ll get to the majors as a sixth outfielder/pinch-runner one of these Septembers.
