Orioles acquired RHP Tommy Wilson from the Mariners for cash considerations.

Of course it’s Mariners president of baseball operations Jerry Dipoto that pulls off a minor-league trade during a lockout-imposed major-league transaction freeze. Wilson was just selected from the Mets by Seattle in the third round of Wednesday’s MiLB Rule 5 Draft. The 25-year-old right-hander posted a 2.35 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 18/5 K/BB ratio across 15 1/3 innings over 10 relief appearances at Double-A Binghamton last year. His father, Thomas Wilson, was the actor who played Biff in “Back to the Future.” Seriously, we can’t make this stuff up.
