Braves reassigned OF DaShawn Keirsey Jr. and INF/OF Tristin English to minor league camp.

Keirsey was in Braves camp as extra outfield depth and won’t make the club’s season-opening roster, even after left fielder Jurickson Profar was hit with a 162-game PED suspension. The 28-year-old got into 74 games for the Twins last year and is more of a defensive specialist than anything else. He could be up as a temporary stopgap at some point during the season.

Braves signed INF/OF Tristin English to a minor league contract.

English joins Atlanta’s outfield mix after going 2-for-22 with one RBI in seven games during a brief stint with the Diamondbacks this past season. The 28-year-old finally reached the big leagues after six seasons in Arizona’s system. He’s merely a depth addition for Atlanta at this stage of his career.

Diamondbacks sent INF Tristin English outright to Triple-A Reno.

English went unclaimed after being designated for assignment by the Diamondbacks on Wednesday. The 28-year-old will remain organizational depth.

Diamondbacks optioned 1B Tristin English to Triple-A Reno.

English is heading back to Reno after the Diamondbacks activated Tyler Locklear. English is likely to just be an up-and-down option for the remainder of his career barring something unforeseeable.

Diamondbacks recalled 1B Tristin English from Triple-A Reno.

With Josh Naylor dealt to the Mariners on Thursday and Pavin Smith on the injured list with an oblique strain, English should have at least a short runway to show what he can do at the big league level. The 28-year-old has hit .341/.390/.566 with 11 homers and 65 RBI in 283 plate appearances at Triple-A Reno this season.

Diamondbacks optioned INF Tristin English to Triple-A Reno.

The 28-year-old slugger spent a few days with the Diamondbacks before the All-Star break as a depth piece while Josh Naylor struggled with shoulder and neck issues, but he’ll head back to Triple-A Reno where he’ll continue to function in an everyday capacity. English went 0-for-4 with an RBI in his limited time with the D’Backs.

Josh Naylor is not in the lineup for Wednesday’s showdown against the Padres.

Naylor has been battling through shoulder and neck issues recently so the Diamondbacks are going to give him a break on Wednesday night from facing Padres ace Dylan Cease. That honor goes to rookie Tristin English, who will be making his first career start in this one. Good luck, kid.

Diamondbacks selected the contract of INF Tristin English from Triple-A Reno.

English receives his first call-up with on-base machine Pavin Smith landing on the injured list with an oblique strain. The unheralded 28-year-old first baseman has hit .338/.388/.549 with nine homers across 58 games this season for Triple-A Reno in the high-octane offensive environments of the Pacific Coast League. He’s unlikely to garner enough playing time to make a significant impact for fantasy purposes.

The Diamondbacks reassigned OF Kristian Robinson along with RHPs Luke Albright, Dakota Chalmers, Francisco Morales, Chris Rodriguez, Tristin English and LHP Brandon Hughes to minor league camp.

Robinson will start out the regular season within the D-backs minor league organization where he spent most of his time last season at Single-A Visalia. Robinson missed the first three seasons of his career due to legal issues and was once considered a top prospect for Arizona. At 23 years old, he’ll look to continue to develop his power at the plate and potentially become a 20 HR, 20 stolen base type of player.
