Yankees prospect right-hander Ty Hensley will miss 2-3 months following surgery Wednesday to correct an impingement in his right hip.
Dr. Bryan Kelly, who performed Alex Rodriguez’s recent hip surgery, will do the procedure. It’s another tough break for Hensley, who was selected No. 30 overall by the Yankees last year, but had his bonus adjusted from $1.6 million to $1.2 million due to abnormalities in his right shoulder. If all goes well, he should be ready to join one of the team’s short-season affiliates later this summer.
