Mariners signed OF Ty Kelly to a minor league contract.
Kelly hasn’t appeared in the majors since the 2018 campaign. The 34-year-old journeyman will head to Seattle following a stint with Israel earlier this month in the World Baseball Classic. He spent last year in the Dodgers organization at Triple-A Oklahoma City and Double-A Tulsa. He’ll presumably head to Triple-A Tacoma to open the minor league season to continue his pretty remarkable career.

Kelly made the announcement on his personal Twitter account. The 33-year-old veteran infielder will serve as organizational depth for the Dodgers this upcoming season. Mariners released INF Ty Kelly.
Kelly came out of a brief retirement to play independent ball and then caught on with the Mariners’ organization earlier this season, but he struggled at the Triple-A level. It’s unclear at this point whether he will choose to continue his career.

Mariners purchased the contract of INF Ty Kelly from the Atlantic League’s Long Island Ducks.
Kelly, 32, hasn’t appeared in the majors since the 2018 campaign. He’ll likely serve as organizational infield depth in the minor-leagues for the Mariners this summer.

Ty Kelly has announced his retirement from baseball.
Kelly noted on Twitter that Andrew Luck was trying to steal his “retirement thunder.” The 31-year-old super-utilityman had been playing this summer with the Triple-A affiliate of the Angels and was batting .246/.325/.320 in 317 plate appearances. He ultimately appeared in 118 career games at the major league level between the 2016-2018 seasons.

Angels signed INF/OF Ty Kelly to a minor league contract.
The deal does not include an invitation to the MLB side of Angels spring training, per Robert Murray of The Athletic. Kelly can play all over the diamond defensively, but the 30-year-old super-utilityman owns a .203/.288/.323 career batting line in the bigs. He’ll be a Triple-A guy for the Halos.

Mets recalled INF/OF Ty Kelly from Triple-A Las Vegas.
Kelly has batted .245/.345/.367 with one homer over 58 plate appearances in the big this season. He’ll give the club some versatility in September.

Ty Kelly has joined the Mets in Washington, D.C.
Kelly can play all around the diamond defensively, giving the Mets some flexibility while Lucas Duda recovers from a back injury. The 27-year-old career minor leaguer was hitting .391/.478/.548 with two home runs and two stolen bases in 35 games this season at Triple-A Las Vegas. We wouldn’t expect those numbers to translate.

Mets optioned INF/OF Ty Kelly to Triple-A Las Vegas.
The Mets needed to clear room on the 25-man roster for the recently acquired Kelly Johnson and Kelly, Ty, served as the transaction casualty. Prior to being sent down, the 27-year-old third baseman had picked up four hits in 23 at-bats during his 10 games played with the Mets. Kelly will return to a robust .391/.478/.548 Triple-A triple-slash when he re-merges with the affiliate in Las Vegas.
