Tice hasn’t appeared in the big league since the 2021 season when he made five relief appearances between the Blue Jays and Braves. The 27-year-old righty spent this past season in the Braves’ minor league system, compiling an inflated 6.37 ERA, 1.88 WHIP and 83/31 K/BB ratio across 53 2/3 innings (45 appearances) between Double-A Mississippi and Triple-A Gwinnett. He’s merely upper-level minor league pitching depth at this juncture of his career.

Tice last appeared in the majors for the Blue Jays and Braves during the 2021 campaign when he made five relief appearances. The 26-year-old righty returns to Atlanta after compiling a bloated 6.45 ERA, 1.79 WHIP and 26/11 K/BB ratio across 22 1/3 innings (22 appearances) last season for Triple-A Reno in the Diamondbacks’ system.

Tice was claimed off waivers from the Braves last season after making five relief appearances in the majors. The 26-year-old righty has been jettisoned after compiling a lackluster 6.45 ERA, 1.79 WHIP and 26/11 K/BB ratio across 22 1/3 innings (22 appearances) this season for Double-A Amarillo.

Tice was a waiver claim from the Braves in July, but he is now officially off the D-backs’ 40-man roster.

Tice has surrendered four earned runs on 10 hits and five walks over his first eight major league innings this season between the Blue Jays and Braves. He’ll be bullpen depth for Arizona.

Tice was jettisoned to the minors on Friday after posting a respectable 4.50 ERA, 1.88 WHIP and 6/5 K/BB ratio across eight innings at the major-league level this season.

Tice had been designated for assignment and now finds himself in a new organization. The diminutive right-hander has seen limited action in the majors but has a pretty good minor league track record.

The right-hander tossed seven innings for the Blue Jays this season, allowing four runs on nine hits with six strikeouts. Toronto recalled Carl Edwards Jr. from Triple-A Buffalo in a corresponding move.

Tice made one appearance with Buffalo; a scoreless inning with two walks. The right-hander will work in the low-leverage spots for Toronto while he’s with the club.

Tice is sent down to make room for A.J. Cole, who had his contract purchased on Saturday. The right-hander appeared in four games before the demotion with a 5.14 ERA, and likely will be back with Toronto at some point this summer.
