Herb, 30, spent the entire 2022 season in the Brewers’ minor league system, registering a 4.03 ERA and 124/34 K/BB ratio in 125 innings (20 starts, seven relief appearances) between Double-A Biloxi and Triple-A Nashville. He will remain a depth piece for Milwaukee in 2023.

Herb will provide the Brewers with some additional organizational starting pitching depth this season. The 29-year-old righty posted a serviceable 4.53 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 87/15 K/BB ratio across 89 1/3 innings (18 appearances, 15 starts) last year between Double-A Arkansas and Triple-A Tacoma in the Mariners’ system.

Herb latched on with the Mariners on a minor-league deal back in May and didn’t end up reaching the majors. The 29-year-old righty wound up compiling a 4.53 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 87/15 K/BB ratio across 89 1/3 innings between Double-A and Triple-A this season.

Herb is who the Orioles got from the Giants in the Mike Yastrzemski trade, but they’ve since cut him loose. The 29-year-old could join the rotation at Triple-A Tacoma.

The 26-year-old registered a 5.35 ERA in 13 starts for Triple-A Sacramento last year. He will serve as organizational pitching depth for the Orioles.

The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster. Herb posted a 5.35 ERA over 13 starts for Sacramento this season.

Herb, 25, held a 3.09 ERA and 136/48 K/BB ratio over 163 1/3 innings at the Double-A level in 2017. He now cannot be taken in the Rule 5 Draft.
