Daytona 500 ranks among top ‘can’t miss’ sporting events in survey of U.S. sports fans

In a survey of U.S. adults of the “can’t miss” sporting events during the year, the Daytona 500 ranks seventh.

The Super Bowl ranked No. 1 with 73.9 percent of U.S. adults surveyed listing the NFL’s title game.

After the Super Bowl, the top five included the Summer Olympics (62.5 percent), the Winter Olympics (62.1 percent), the World Series (57.8 percent) and the college football championship game (54.7 percent).

Sixth on the list was the college football playoffs at 53.9 percent and then came the Daytona 500 at 53.5 percent. NASCAR’s season-opening race ranked ahead of the NBA Finals (53.2 percent), NCAA’s March Madness (52.2 percent) and the Kentucky Derby (52.2 percent).

The survey was done by SponsorLink and results were in Repucomm’s report titled: U.S. College Sports Today and Beyond. SponsorLink is Repucomm’s monthly sports tracker that surveys 1,000 adults age 18 and older in the U.S. on various sports-related topics.
