Jimmie Johnson’s paint scheme gets fresh look for 2017
Jimmie Johnson will look different in more ways than one when he rolls into Daytona International Speedway next February.
Aside from being called a seven-time NASCAR champion (with the patch on his firesuit a constant reminder), Johnson will have a brand new paint scheme as he begins his quest for a record-breaking eighth title. Hendrick Motorsports and Lowe’s revealed Johnson’s 2017 look on social media Wednesday night, which differs than what he had driven the past two seasons.
First, the grey has been completely removed from the car. The car will now feature its dominant Lowe’s blue, white, and the addition of neon. The front of Johnson’s No. 48 is now solid blue around the Lowe’s logo where it had been blue and grey.
The other noticeable change is on the side of the car, where the design has changed and it has a brighter white with the addition neon strips. The No. 48 on the roof goes also goes from white to neon, as does Johnson’s name above the door.
Johnson’s firesuit was revealed earlier this week.
