For the third time in the last five races, Martin Truex Jr. took the checkered flag, holding off Joey Logano in a five-lap shootout to win Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600, the longest race of the NASCAR Cup season.
Truex becomes the third driver this season to win three races in the first 13 of the 26-race regular season, joining teammate Kyle Busch and Brad Keselowski.
Kyle Busch leaves Charlotte back atop the Cup standings, followed by Logano (six points back) and Chase Elliott and Kevin Harvick, both tied for third, 50 points back apiece.
