Today’s NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Las Vegas: Start time, lineup, TV information and more

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will play host today to the Kobalt 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Here are the particulars (all times are ET):

START: The command for drivers to start their engines will be given at 3:37 p.m. ET. The green flag is scheduled for 3:46 p.m.

DISTANCE: The race is scheduled for 267 laps (400 miles) around the 1.5-mile oval.

PRERACE SCHEDULE: The Sprint Cup garage opens at 9:30 a.m. The drivers meeting is at 1:30 p.m. Driver introductions are at 3 p.m.

NATIONAL ANTHEM: It will be performed by Craig Morgan at 3:31 p.m., followed by a fly-over by the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds.

TV/RADIO: Fox will broadcast the race, beginning at 3 p.m.. Performance Racing Network will broadcast the race on radio and at GoPRN.com beginning at 2:30 p.m. SiriusXM NASCAR Radio will carry PRN’s broadcast.

FORECAST: The wunderground.com site predicts 65 degrees at race time with a 31% chance of rain.

LAST TIME: Kevin Harvick led 142 laps to win last year’s race. Martin Truex Jr. finished second with Ryan Newman third, Dale Earnhardt Jr. fourth and Denny Hamlin fifth.

BACKUP CARS: Carl Edwards and Jamie McMurray will give up their starting spots after going to a backup car.
