Ty Dillon pleased with runner-up effort in Dover Xfinity race

Ty Dillon charged from the back of the field to second place in the Driver Sober 200 and says the finish takes a bit of the pressure off in Charlotte.

Ty Dillon had to start at the rear of the field for an unapproved adjustment, slapped the wall, marched through the field and claimed a runner-up finish to Daniel Suarez in Sunday’s Drive Sober 200 Xfinity Series race at Dover International Speedway.

Dillon is one spot out of a transfer spot to the second round of the Chase. He trails eighth-ranked Brennan Poole by three points. The 12-driver Chase field will be cut to eight after Friday night’s race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
“Our car was really good,” Dillon said.“Obviously we were motivated. A little disappointed with the way everything started there.

“(The result was) what we needed. It takes a little bit of the pressure off going into Charlotte. We’ve still got to execute there and did what we did today.”
