Holley came to Miami after earning the Most Outstanding Rookie award with the CFL’s Calgary Stampeders. He played linebacker in the CFL but was listed as a safety in Miami. The position and league switch were too much for Holley to overcome before Miami had to trim down their roster. He could end up on the Miami practice squad as a project player.

Dolphins signed LB Nate Holley, formerly of the Calgary Stampeders.
Holley had short stints with the Rams and Vikings before finding his way to the CFL. After racking up 78 defensive tackles, one sack, and one interception in 18 games, Holley earned the Most Outstanding Rookie award. Holley, 25 years old, is facing an uphill battle to make Miami’s final roster. He stood out on special teams in the CFL and that could give him an avenue to sticking in Miami.
