Anthony Carter underwent an MRI on Thursday that confirmed he is suffering from tendinitis in his left knee.
Carter, who started the first two games in place of Tony Parker, could be placed on the IL as soon as today.

Anthony Carter, who will be eligible to come off the injured list after Saturday’s game, hopes to be healthy enough to play Monday.
Tony Parker could also return Monday, so Carter might not go back into the starting lineup if he can play.
  • DEN Point Guard
Anthony Carter could play as soon as Tuesday, coach Gregg Popovich said.
Carter, who has missed the past eight games with tendinitis in his left knee, will practice Monday for the first time since he went on the IL. He’ll back up Tony Parker when healthy.
  • DEN Point Guard
Anthony Carter confirmed he plans to return to the Heat next season at the $4.1 million option he can invoke by June 30.
Carter might not receive more than the minimum if he was a free agent. The point guard shot just 36 percent this season.

Jerryd Bayless (ankle) is a game-time decision for Friday’s game against the Bobcats.
Bayless is expected to play, but the Raptors are going to take this all the way to tip-off. If Bayless ends up missing the game, look for Leandro Barbosa or Anthony Carter to get a nice uptick in playing time. Barbosa is the much better emergency pickup from a fantasy perspective.
  • DEN Point Guard
The Toronto Raptors have decided to “cut ties” with Anthony Carter.
The Raptors will try to move him in a deal over the next week and a half or outright release him. The Raptors would like to use more of their youth and that doesn’t leave much room for the veteran. He’s been sidelined with a stomach muscle problem over the last three games.
  • DEN Point Guard
Dwane Casey confirmed that the Raptors have released Anthony Carter in order for him to join a playoff team.
Carter will look to join a contender as an insurance policy at the end of the bench.

The Rockets have “reached out” to Anthony Carter’s agent about signing his client.
Team beat writer Jonathan Feigen believes it could be a sign that the Rockets are interested in buyout out Derek Fisher’s contract. Carter is highly unlikely to accrue fantasy value regardless of where he lands.
  • DEN Point Guard
Anthony Carter, who had been averaging just over eight minutes per game in 20 games this season, played a season-high 21 minutes on Wednesday, and responded with 10 points, six assists and five rebounds.
Dwane Casey strikes again. Carter was solid tonight, but don’t expect tonight’s line to become a trend. He has no fantasy value.
  • DEN Point Guard
The Raptors have signed 13-year veteran PG Anthony Carter.
Carter will sit at the end of the bench and dole out wisdom to a squad with mostly younger players. He will be the No. 3 point guard behind Jose Calderon and Jerryd Bayless, who are knee deep in a position battle.
